DormDay

The idea of this stop motion animation is to show a ordinary day in the dorm with a manner that’s both real and surreal. I made this video to inspire people to reflect and think about their daily life.

Using of stop motion technique is very significant in this video. With it I presented the illusion of time flowing continually but also showed the gap in-between frames. Therefore I can create this video with missing character and have daily use objects behave like they’re alive.

The dorm is already a small space, but a student may actually occupy a even smaller space inside. That’s the desk area. What we occupy reflects us and also occupies us as well. It’s very easy to neglect this in real life because we tempt to focus more on ourself and maybe people surrounding us instead of the environment we exist in.
